YEREVAN, November 4. / ARKA /. Armenia’s authorities have lifted the ban on the import of poultry meat from three states in the U.S., the Armenian State Food Safety Service said today.
The ban on the import of poultry meat, raw materials (feathers), commodity and hatching eggs and other poultry by-products from 16 US states was imposed on May 29, 2015 following an outbreak of avian influenza (H5N2 and H5N8) in the United States.
Armenia’s decision to lift the ban on imports of poultry meat from the states of Nebraska, South Dakota and Wisconsin is based on an opinion of the International Epizootic Bureau that the disease was eliminated in the United States.
Earlier, on July 30 Armenian authorities lifted the ban on the import of poultry products from the states of Arkansas, Idaho, Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Montana, North Dakota, Oregon and Washington.-0-
