Armenia’s construction sector fell by 7.9% year-on-year in the first five months of the year to 90.3 billion drams, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).

YEREVAN, July 1. /ARKA/. Armenia’s construction sector fell by 7.9% year-on-year in the first five months of the year to 90.3 billion drams, according to the National Statistical Service (NSS).
Population-funded construction dropped by 6.8% to 21.1 billion drams (23.4% of the total). Corporate-funded construction slashed by 19% to 40.3 billion drams (44.5% of the total), humanitarian organizations-funded construction was worth 1.2 billion drams, budget-funded construction dropped by 36.4% to about 9 billion drams and some 1.4 billion drams worth construction was funded by communities.
Also some 17.4 billion drams worth construction was funded by international loans (19.2% of the total), an increase of 2 times. Some 3.4 billion drams worth construction was financed by World Bank loans, 10.5 billion drams worth construction by the Asian Development Bank, 56.3 million drams worth construction was financed by the EBRD and another 3.4 billion drams worth construction was financed from other sources.
