Armenia’s construction sector slumps by 3.1 percent

Armenia's construction sector in the first 11 months of 2015 dropped by 3.1% from the year earlier to 352.6 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.

YEREVAN, January 15. /ARKA/. Armenia's construction sector in the first 11 months of 2015 dropped by 3.1% from the year earlier to 352.6 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.

According to NSS figures, individual-financed constructed grew by 6.8% to 87.9 billion drams (25% of the total), corporate-financed construction fell by 2.1% to 165.5 billion drams (46.9% of the total), while construction financed by humanitarian organizations surged by 34.8% to about 7. 9 billion drams (2.2% of the total). 

Also government-financed construction slashed by 15.9% to 46.5 billion drams (13.2% of the total) and community-financed construction plummeted by 65.3% to 5.6 billion drams (1.6 % of the total).

Construction financed by international loans rose by 11.5% to 39.1 billion drams (11.1% of the total).Of that amount 13.4 billion drams worth construction was financed by World Bank loans, some 3 billion drams was financed by EBRD loans, about 15 billion drams worth construction was financed by the Asian Development Bank loans and over one billion drams worth construction was financed by German Development Bank (KfW).
