Armenia’s construction sector up 13.2% in January-February 2023

Armenia’s construction sector grew by 13.2% in the first two months of 2023 from the first two months of 2022 to a little over 37.6 billion drams (in current prices), according to the National Statistical Committee.

YEREVAN, April 7. /ARKA/. Armenia’s construction sector grew by 13.2% in the first two months of 2023 from the first two months of 2022 to a little over 37.6 billion drams (in current prices), according to the National Statistical Committee.

It said over five billion drams worth construction was financed by the government, down 1.3% from the first two months of 2022.

Over 1.7 billion drams worth construction was financed by communities, 3.8 times rise from January –February 2022. About 308.4 million drams worth construction was financed by humanitarian organization, up 38.4% year-on-year.

About 21 billion drams worth construction was financed by organizations, up 9.3% and about 9.7 billion drams worth construction was financed by individuals, down 15.4%.

Besides, 235 million drams worth construction was financed by World Bank loans, 10.6 million drams worth construction was financed by the EBRD, more than 1.2 billion drams worth construction was financed by the Asian Development Bank’s loans, 65 million drams worth construction was financed by the European Investment Bank and 260 million drams worth construction by other organizations.

Construction of real estate accounted for about 21 billion drams of the total, construction of electricity, gas, steam and conditioned air facilities - for about 3.3 billion drams and construction of transport facilities -over 2.6 billion drams.. ($1 - 388.21 drams) -0-.
