Armenia’s construction sector slashed by 7.4% in the first four months of 2016 from the same time span of 2015 to 61.9 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.
YEREVAN, June 2. / ARKA /. Armenia’s construction sector slashed by 7.4% in the first four months of 2016 from the same time span of 2015 to 61.9 billion drams, the National Statistical Service (NSS) said today.
Private-financed construction (by individuals) fell by 12% year-on-year to about 13.9 billion drams or 22.4% of the total volume.
Corporate-financed construction dropped by 16.2% to about 26.8 billion drams (43.3% of the total construction). Construction financed by humanitarian aid totaled 594 million drams. Government-funded construction plummeted by 41.5% to about 6 billion drams (9.6% of the total) and community-funded construction was worth 564.3 million drams.
Also more than 14 billion drams worth construction was funded by international loans (twice the size of construction a year earlier). World Bank loans were used to finance more than 2 billion drams worth construction; Asian Development Bank loans helped to build about 9 billion drams worth construction and the International Bank for Reconstruction and Development (IBRD) financed 11.9 million drams worth construction ($ 1 - 477.99 drams). -0-
