Armenia’s jewelry industry posted a 3.2% year-on-year drop for the first two months of 2016 saying in terms of money the total output was worth 1.886.9 billion drams.

YEREVAN, April 2, /ARKA/. Armenia’s jewelry industry posted a 3.2% year-on-year drop for the first two months of 2016 saying in terms of money the total output was worth 1.886.9 billion drams.
According to the National Statistical Service, the output in the first two months fell to 68.4 kg from 81.6 kg in the same period last year. The diamond cutting sector during the reporting period grew to 11,476 carats from 8,664 carats in January-February 2015.
The export of precious and semi-precious stones, precious metals and products in January-February 2016 amounted to approximately $37.5 million, an increase of 55.3%, while imports of the same types of goods increased by 56.1% to $17.3 million. -0-
