The Armenian government has approved today a number of changes to the public procurement procedure.

YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a number of changes to the public procurement procedure.
Currently, when announcing public procurement tenders Eurasian Economic Union’s (EEU) member states give preference to locally - manufactured goods and services or to goods and services produced in EEU member states, if the difference in prices with those from third countries does not exceed 15%.
Armenia is expected to eliminate this preference for procurements in the amount of less than 70 million drams (about $145,000). The saved money will be used to stimulate local producers’ demand.
Other changes to the public procurement procedure call for introduction of partly-centralized procurement system within six months, simplification of the procurement process and reduction of the number of customers. -0-
