Armenia Virtual Tourist Card project named best innovative start-up solution in Minsk

Minsk, the capital of Belarus, hosted a two-day “VTB Group Visa 2019 Retail Business Innovation Forum,” organized by VTB Group with the support of the Visa International, VTB Bank (Armenia) said.
YEREVAN, August 12. /ARKA/. Minsk, the capital of Belarus, hosted a two-day “VTB Group Visa 2019 Retail Business Innovation Forum,” organized by VTB Group with the support of the Visa International, VTB Bank (Armenia) said.
It said the event was attended by representatives of the Russian VTB Bank, VTB Group subsidiaries from the CIS and Georgia, representatives of companies, which showcased innovative solutions designed to develop and digitize the retail business in the CIS and Georgia, as well as by representatives of the Visa international payment system, which presented their innovative card solutions.
As part of the forum, a competition of the best innovative start-up solution was held, won by the “Virtual Armenia Tourist Card” project of the Armenia Guide platform, which is part of the Armenian Assembly public organization for supporting business and cultural initiatives. The solution was presented by VTB Bank (Armenia).
Armenia Guide tourism platform is aimed at boosting the local tourism industry by providing the full cycle of user experience along with targeted content and creating a multi-currency virtual tourist card.
The Armenia Guide app is a guide for locals and visitors to the sights, events, restaurants and routes. The aim of the project is to increase the market size of both internal and external tourism and diversify tourism products by providing a full cycle of tourism services.
The official launch of the Armenia Guide mobile application took place as part of the Armenian Summit of Minds in June 2019. The application shows tourists and locals the most relevant events, interesting routes and main attractions of the country. Armenia Guide is available for download on the AppStore and Google Play.
The virtual tourist card of the application enables customers (tourists, Armenians from the Diaspora, as well as local citizens) to instantly issue virtual cards by using a video call to the Contact Center of VTB Bank (Armenia) by means of remote identification. It also enables access to four virtual card accounts simultaneously in AMD, USD, EUR, and RUR.
It enables to make money transfers from abroad to a virtual card for tourism purposes and receive a preferential conversion rate when paying with a virtual card for various services, also to use the app to pay for services and products (movies, hotels, restaurants, tours, etc.), accumulate bonus points for transactions with the ability to exchange for different goods.
In the near future, the Armenia virtual multi-currency tourist card will be launched by VTB Bank (Armenia) in the Armenian Guide application with the support of the Visa international payment system with the possibility of further scaling to other VTB Group subsidiary banks.-0-
