Armenian butter importers are quick in raising prices but reluctant to down them, when necessary

Butter prices have gone up at world markets – one kilogram sold there at $5.2 and even more on February 6, Zhamanak (Time) reported on Friday.

Price hikes have shocked Armenia’s butter market yet before that regardless of things at world markets.
One kilogram of a New Zealand butter cost AMD 4,580 in Yerevan on February 8 (around $9.5) and Anchor butter AMD 4,600.
This means that the price for one kilogram of butter in Armenia is $4.3 higher than that at the world market.
The authors of the publication express hope that Armenian market will not react to world developments by another quick price rise, especially taking into account that Armenian butter importers turned a blind eye to the recent decrease in butter prices at world markets.
According to the newspaper, butter consumption in the country continues falling because of increase in prices. -0---
