The Armenian government will offer local companies engaged in processing of agricultural products, government loans for the purchase of crops, prime minister Karen Karapetyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
YEREVAN, December 29. /ARKA/. The Armenian government will offer local companies engaged in processing of agricultural products, government loans for the purchase of crops, prime minister Karen Karapetyan said at a government meeting on Thursday.
Karapetyan gave 30 days to the ministers of economic development and investment, as well as agriculture to introduce the details of the offer to large companies engaged in processing of agricultural products. He also proposed to discuss this offer with local commercial banks.
"We're trying to create a platform, a logistical center to help our companies engaged in the procurement and processing of agricultural products to make these financial flows and procurement more efficient and predictable," - said Karapetyan.
"I think that our proposal will benefit these companies and for those who will agree to work on this platform we will create favorable conditions", - Karapetyan said.
Many processing companies have not yet paid for the purchase of crops from farmers in 2015. Earlier, deputy minister of agriculture Robert Makaryan said that local processing companies have bought this year 7 billion drams worth fruits and vegetables, having paid to farmers 6.3 billion drams.
