Armenian customs officers prevent smuggling of 270 liters of vodka

Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today its employees had thwarted an attempt of major violation of customs regulations.

YEREVAN, February 20. /ARKA/. Armenia’s State Revenue Committee (SRC) said today its employees had thwarted an attempt of major violation of customs regulations.
According to a SCR press release, while checking a truck with declared 20 tons of gypsum boards on February 16 at Gogavan-Privolnoe border check-point, the customs officers used Rapiskan X-ray inspection system to have revealed 25 boxes with about 270 liters of Russian vodka hidden in a cache.
Under Armenian law, alcoholic beverages should have excise stamps; however, the hidden bottles missed not only Armenian but also Russian excise stamps. -0-
