Officers of the Armenian agriculture ministry’s food safety agency distance themselves from passing off margarine as butter for supply to army, Ishkhan Karapetyan, the head of the agency said on Monday.
YEREVAN, December 26. /ARKA/. Officers of the Armenian agriculture ministry’s food safety agency distance themselves from passing off margarine as butter for supply to army, Ishkhan Karapetyan, the head of the agency said on Monday.
Earlier, media resources reported that the national security agency was investigating the fact of supply of artificial butter to army as genuine butter.
According to reports, one of the supplier companies is owned by Yeghishe Margaryan, deputy head of the regulator, and that the laboratory examination results have been forged at his order.
Karapetyan said that he knows no details, since he didn’t run the agency then.
He said that if guilty parties are revealed, the state agency will do whatever is necessary to put the offenders to justice.
Karapetyan also denied the information that the supplier company belongs to the mentioned official of the state agency and added that the regulator has already released a statement on the matter. -0---
