Armenian premier orders more effective organization of communities’ financing
YEREVAN, July 10. /ARKA/. There are many faults in Armenia’s communities in the organization of their own income, and this problem is very pressing especially in newly formed communities, Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, said Monday at a working session in Kotayk province.

“It is necessary to work out a clear scheme for communities’ spending and financial flow management to avoid additional expenses, where they are not allowed,” he said.

Karapetyan also pointed out the necessity of setting a certain budget spending rule and management culture for new-established communities.

Karapet Guloyan, governor of Kotayk, told the premier that the province’s share in the country’s GDP is 7%.

“The province’s industrial output amounts to AMD 138 billion 485 million, and agriculture output amount to AMD 61 billion 300 million,” he said.

Guloyan said agriculture in Kotayk has good development prospects – there are 61 hectares of greenhouses and 712 hectares of intensive gardens in the province, of which 26 hectares are provided with advanced technologies.

He added that other greenhouses with the total area of 30 hectares and 200-hectare intensive gardens are planned to be created before the end of this year.

Guloyan also singled out tourism as another promising segment of the province’s economy – there are more than 75 hotels and recreation centers in Kotayk.

At the prime minister’s instruction, 16 investment programs of the total cost of AMD 9 billion 100 million have been submitted to the government, of which 11 (AMD 7 billion 600 million total cost) have been approved by the government.

Green Farmer CJSC’s program is being implemented now in Hrazdan and the remaining 10 programs are being discussed.

Three solar stations of 1 megawatt each have been deployed thanks to the AMD 1 billion 500 million invested in this.

Guloyan said that 128 illegal garbage dumps have been removed from the province as part of the Clean Armenia program.

The governor added that the communities’ own income totals AMD 3 billion 278 million. Six new communities have been formed in Kotayk since the beginning of this year.

Guloyan said that all the communities of the province had their own income increased since the beginning of the year and they still have room for building it up by 20 to 30 percent. --0---
