YEREVAN, January 27. /ARKA/. Karen Karapetyan, Armenian prime minister, intends to invest his personal financial resources in Gyumri, Haykakan Znamank reports.
According to the newspaper, the money will be spent on recovery of old streets in the center of the city.
The program implies the opening of hotels, restaurants and craft workshops in downtown Gyumri, and it will become an attractive site for tourists.
It is presumed that the project will have business aims with an eye to profits on one side, but on the other side, it will remove the heavy moral and psychological atmosphere in the city.
Karapetyan intends to do it publicly to attract other investors.
Gyumri is singled out among Armenia’s other cities for the poorest population.
The authors of the publication say that it will become clear how the project implementation can impact the city atmosphere only if it is put into reality. --0---
