Armenian processing enterprises buy 210,000 metric tons of grape
YEREVAN, October 28. / ARKA /. Armenian wineries and other processing enterprises have procured so far about 210,000 metric tons of grape from about 320,000 metric tons, harvested this year, according to Hrachya Berberyan, head of a union of farmers.

Speaking at a news conference today he said some of these enterprises fail to pay farmers, promising to do so in 2-3 months, which he said would create difficulties for farmers in spring.

Another problem, he said, is that Armenian wines in Russia are more expensive that Bulgarian and Chilean wines.

He said some 30,000 tons of table grape will be stored this year. "This means that in winter the grape will cost 500 drams per one kg against of 1,000-1,500 drams in the previous years", he said. -0-
