Armenia's State Food Safety Service and owners of slaughterhouses signed a memorandum on January 16, which sets prices for the services of slaughterhouses.
YEREVAN, January 17. /ARKA/. Armenia's State Food Safety Service and owners of slaughterhouses signed a memorandum on January 16, which sets prices for the services of slaughterhouses.
The memorandum signing was preceded by a meeting of the head of the regulator, Georgy Avetisyan, with representatives of more than 30 slaughterhouses and a dozen cattle breeders.
Earlier on Thursday, the butchers from several meat markets held a protest in front of the government building demanding the abolition of a government decision that entered into force on January 15, 2020, obliging that all animal must be slaughtered at slaughterhouses.
According to the memorandum, transportation of animals (at least three animals) to slaughterhouse will be free for a distance of 30 km. In case of transportation of one animal, the fee will be 3 thousand drams, slaughtering a pig will cost a maximum of 5 thousand drams; slaughtering small cattle will cost a maximum of 3.5 thousand drams and slaughtering cattle will cost a maximum of 10 thousand drams. -0-
