YEREVAN, November 7. / ARKA /. The Armenian Union of Meat Products Producers will be created in the near future, deputy minister of agriculture Robert Makaryan told a news conference today.

He said the constituent assembly of the union was held on November 5, attended also by agriculture minister Sergo Karapetyan. He said the assembly approved the charter of the union and elected chairman.

According to him, the establishment of the union was initiated by the ministry to boost production of meat products, ensure sales growth and advertise domestic production at target markets.

He said the ministry’s main task is to help create agricultural cooperatives, unions and associations. According to him, there are now more than 349,000 rural households in the country and the majority face difficulties in legal relationship with processing companies. He said the new union will work to streamline this relationship. -0-
