YEREVAN, May 23. /ARKA. Chinese entrepreneurs will invest $5 million in construction of a mineral water plant in Armenia, Armenian Territorial Administration Minister Suren Papikyan said Thursday at a regular Cabinet meeting.
At the same meeting, the Armenian government decided to alienate New Ida LLC’s land strip in Stepanavan, Lori province, through a direct sale.
He said that the Chinese investors are obliged to invest $5 million and to start drawing and bottling mineral water within 18 months.
In his words, 1.3 hectare will be allocated to the company for building the plant and other 2.7 hectares for building necessary infrastructures.
The company is planning to create 20 to 50 jobs, and this number may increase if output and exports grow.
Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said the project has been discussed yet in 2018, but there was a problem with proper territory then, and the investor couldn’t launch the work. The problem is already solved. -0---
