Customs examination of a batch of Armenian peaches at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border is already completed, the Armenian economy ministry reports.The only way between Armenia and Russia goes through the Upper Lars. Spayka freight company's eight trucks with 200 tons of Armenian peaches had been trapped there since August 21.
YEREVAN, August 26. /ARKA/. Customs examination of a batch of Armenian peaches at the Upper Lars checkpoint on the Russian-Georgian border is already completed, the Armenian economy ministry reports. The only way between Armenia and Russia goes through the Upper Lars. Spayka freight company's eight trucks with 200 tons of Armenian peaches had been trapped there since August 21.
The company says that if peaches lose their marketable appearance because of temperature and storage abuse, the damage can amount to $100,000.
Today, Anna Ohanyan, the press secretary of the Armenian economy ministry, wrote on her Facebook page that the examination of the vehicles loaded with peaches was already over.
According to the economy ministry's information, the problem is that there are no facilities for keeping short-lived commodities at the border checkpoint's territory. -0---
