Domestic trade turnover in Armenia in 2023 totaled 5.5 trillion drams with 25.7% growth rate
YEREVAN, February 8. /ARKA/. Domestic trade turnover in Armenia in 2023 amounted to about 5.5 trillion drams (in current prices), having surged by 25.7% compared to 2022, the National Statistical Committee said.
In December 2023 alone the trade amounted to 697 billion drams, an increase of 35.9% compared to December of the previous year and up 25.7% compared to November 2023.
The wholesale trade amounted to over 3.4 trillion drams (62.3%, of the total) growing by 34.4% year-on-year.
The f retail trade grew by 11.1% to over 1.8 trillion drams (33% of the total). Trade in vehicles raised 259.6 billion drams, up 35.8% from 2022.
Stores (82.6% of the total retail trade) accounted for about 1.5 trillion drams, growing by 14.4% from 2022. Consumer goods markets grew by 1.3% to 69.6 billion drams, markets of agricultural products grew by 2.8% to 17.6 billion drams, kiosks posted 1.5% drop in trade which was 22.1 billion drams.
