YEREVAN, November 16. /ARKA/. Tigran Khachatryan, Armenian acting minister of economic development and investments, received Friday Dimitri Gvindadze, the head of the EBRD office in Armenia, the press office of the ministry reports. 

Khachatryan said that solutions have been funds with the EBRD to a number of problems that hobble improvement of business and investment environment. 

Gvindadze, on his side, said that the Armenian economic development and investments ministry is one of the most important partners to the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.

He presented the key directions of the bank’s activity to Khachatryan. He also singled out the economy segments where the EBRD sends its financial resources. 

The legislative package related to cooperation between public and private sectors was discussed at the meeting along with the further steps to be taken in this connection.  

The business ombudsman institution introduction and the application of international and regional experience in Armenia were discussed at the meeting as well. 

The head of the EBRD office in Armenia assured the acting minister that the ministry can rely on the bank’s support for its business environment improvement initiatives.

The EBRD is one of the key institutional investors in Armenia. The bank has invested over €1.2 billion in 168 projects in the country’s financial, infrastructure, energy and corporate sectors. 

About 88% of these projects have been implemented in the private sector. --0---
