EDB, UN World Food Programme and Yeremyan Projects implement joint programme in Armenian schools
ALMATY, 27 June. /ARKA/. The Eurasian Development Bank (EDB), World Food Programme (WFP) and Yeremyan Projects Group of Companies signed a letter of intent on the sidelines of the EDB annual meeting in Almaty, Kazakhstan.
"This document confirms our joint intentions to implement the Milk to Schools project in the Republic of Armenia. The project is aimed at overcoming food security challenges for school-age children in the regions of Armenia," said Denis Ilyin, Senior Managing Director of the Eurasian Development Bank.
According to him, the partner in this project is WFP, a cutting-edge UN agency that saves lives in emergencies and uses food aid to build a path to peace, stability and prosperity for people.
"Yeremyan Projects Group of Companies is Armenia's largest enterprise of vertically integrated meat and milk production cycle. Its creation was financed by the Eurasian Development Bank," Ilyin said.
He reminded that Yeremyan Farm, a member of the group, is already implementing a pilot programme in Armenia to deliver milk to schools, and by signing this letter of intent today, all parties express their desire to expand the implementation of the project in Armenia. This will allow to reach more schools and children in need of quality nutrition, according to him.
