France will allocate 10 mln euros to Armenia for modernization of irrigation system in regions with population of 500 thousand people
YEREVAN, March 9. /ARKA/. The Armenian government has approved today a proposal to amend the agreement on agricultural assistance project with the French Development Agency.
The aim of the project is to develop an irrigation system through technical assistance (4.4 million Euros) and investments (5.6 million Euros), to eliminate obstacles to the availability of infrastructures for water storage and irrigation, land consolidation, consultations and credits.
The project will be implemented in the Ararat and Armavir provinces (with a population of 500 thousand people), which will be able to stimulate significantly the modernization of agricultural production.
The project consists of 3 main components and sub-components: institutional assistance to national and local beneficiaries in the field of agricultural irrigation. -0-
