Government granted VAT deferment worth 29.6bln drams in Armenia in 2014

Armenia’s government has granted a total of 29.6 billion drams worth VAT payment deferments for import of equipment and machinery for 11 investment projects. Minister of economy Karen Chshmarityan said at a 2014 summary press conference on Friday.

YEREVAN, December 27. /ARKA/. Armenia’s government has granted a total of 29.6 billion drams worth VAT payment deferments for import of equipment and machinery for 11 investment projects. Minister of economy Karen Chshmarityan said at a 2014 summary press conference on Friday. 

The projects are expected to provide some 900 new jobs in Armenia, according to the minister. 

At its meeting of April 14, 2014, the government lowered the minimum investment package requirement for a three-year VAT deferment, from 300 million to 200 million drams. 

The government has also extended the so called ‘temporary imports’ customs regime for a total of 6.8 billion drams under some 18 investments projects of 17 companies. ($1 – 461.58 drams). -0-
