IFC names Ameriabank as the best issuing bank in Europe and Central Asia for energy efficiency projects

The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has named Armenian Ameriabank as the best issuing bank in Europe and Central Asia for energy efficiency projects as part of trade financing program GTFP , the bank told ARKA.
YEREVAN, October 10. / ARKA /. The International Finance Corporation (IFC) has named Armenian Ameriabank as the best issuing bank in Europe and Central Asia for energy efficiency projects as part of trade financing program GTFP , the bank told ARKA.
It said the award was handed to Ameriabank corporate customer director Gagik Sahakyan at an event organized by IFC during the fifth annual Partnership Forum in Dubai, which was attended by about 150 organizations from 52 countries.
According to Suren Kocharian, head of Ameriabank trade finance department, while expanding its activities in the field of trade finance Ameriabank gives preference to funding those projects which along with boosting businesses contribute also to the efficient use of energy resources.
"We also pay proper attention to management of environmental and social risks associated with the activities of the Bank in order to minimize their impact. The bank is guided by legal instruments concerning energy efficiency, environmental protection and social development, using the best local and international experience," he was quoted as saying.
In May 2011, IFC awarded Ameriabank GTFP Award 2010 as the most active issuing bank in the Caucasus within the framework of GTFP. Ameriabank is a universal bank providing investment, corporate and retail banking services in the form of a comprehensive package of banking solutions. -0-
