Illegal importers and customs bribe takers to be prosecuted over Azerbaijani apple scandal

A criminal investigation has been launched into tax evasion connected with illegal import of Azerbaijani apples into Armenia.
YEREVAN, May 5. /ARKA/. A criminal investigation has been launched into tax evasion connected with illegal import of Azerbaijani apples into Armenia.
Armenia’s state food safety agency was scrutinized the marker throughout three days to confirm the alarming information that Azerbaijani apples have emerged in Armenia. .
“It has become known in the course of the investigation that some individuals have brought agricultural products, including Azerbaijani apples, through the state border,” the agency’s report says. “The products had been let in the country without customs procedures, for a bribe.”
It has also become clear that customs officers at Bagratashen border checkpoint have repeatedly taken bribes from people engaged in illegal entrepreneurship for ridding them from the necessity of going through customs procedures.
Individuals involved in illegal entrepreneurship as well as bribe takers will be prosecuted to the full extent of the law. --0----
