Introduction of Albion technology at Ararat gold recovery plant to be completed in early 2013

Construction of a new ore dressing line at Ararat gold recovery factory will be completed in early 2013, Roman Khudoliy, president of Russian GeoProMining (GPM) company told reporters on Wednesday. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan attended the ceremony for laying the foundation stone for the new line on July 6, 2011.
YEREVAN, February 9. /ARKA/. Construction of a new ore dressing line at Ararat gold recovery factory will be completed in early 2013, Roman Khudoliy, president of Russian GeoProMining (GPM) company told reporters on Wednesday. Armenian president Serzh Sargsyan attended the ceremony for laying the foundation stone for the new line on July 6, 2011.
The unique innovative technology Albion" which is part of an ambitious program of modernization of GPM assets in Armenia, will improve operational efficiency and ensure high environmental standards.
Mr. Khudoliy said the line will be launched early next year. He added that the company will employ 130 new workers to operate the technology. He said the plant in Armenia will be the third in the world to use this technology.
The Albion technology was developed by Xstrata Technology (Australia), together with Core Process Engineering (Australia. It allows to significantly increase the extraction of metal from the hard sulphide ore from Sotk gold deposits. Beginning from 2014 the company may increase output to 150 000 ounces of gold per year.
GPM intends to invest about $100 million in GPM Gold and Ararat gold recovery factory. It has already spent $260 on the acquisition and modernization of its Armenian enterprises.
GeoProMining owns two assets in Armenia - the Agarak Copper-Molybdenum Combine (ACMC) and GPM Gold that develops Sotk gold mines and runs the Ararat gold recovery factory.-0-
