Iranian and Armenian ministers discuss cooperation expansion

Armenia and Iran have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of e-commerce and postal communications, Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communications said today.
YEREVAN, January 21, /ARKA/. Armenia and Iran have agreed to expand cooperation in the field of e-commerce and postal communications, Armenian Ministry of Transport and Communications said today.
It said the agreements were signed by Iran’s Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology, Mahmoud Vaezi, and Armenia’s Minister of Transportation and Communications Gagik Beglaryan in Tehran on January 19.
The agreements are expected to pave the way for expansion of cooperation between Iran and Armenia in publishing common stamps and postal exchanges as well as electronic transactions.
According to Vaezi, after a visit to Armenia by an Iranian delegation three weeks ago the amount of cooperation in this area have increased four times. He said Iran is ready to expand tit 14 times.
In Tehran Gagik Beglaryan and Iranian Minister of Transportation and Communications Abbas Akhundi discussed also creation of a transport corridor from the Persian Gulf to the Black Sea.
Akhundi was quoted as saying in reference to a possible construction of a railway link between the two countries that the sides need to reach an agreement on the financing of the project.
He said also that last year the volume of Armenian-Iranian cargo transportation grew by 50% - 10,000 Iranian truck arrived in Armenia and 2000 Armenian trucks traveled to Iran. -0-
