Karabakh Telecom to invest €11 million in telecommunication in Artsakh

Karabakh Telecom, the only telecommunication company operating in Artsakh (Karabakh), will lose its monopoly, Vahram Poghosyan, spokesman of the staff of state minister of the republic, said Thursday on his Facebook page.
YEREVAN, June 1. /ARKA/. Karabakh Telecom, the only telecommunication company operating in Artsakh (Karabakh), will lose its monopoly, Vahram Poghosyan, spokesman of the staff of state minister of the republic, said Thursday on his Facebook page.
In his words, State Minister Araik Harutyunyan sent an official message to Armenia' three telecommunication operators - VivaCell-MTS (K-Telecom), VEON Armenia (Beeline brand) and Ucom - to establish their presence also in Artsakh.
Poghosyan said that the subscriber fee will be downed 50% very soon, and per-minute prices and roaming will be come 20% cheaper.
He also said that thanks to the €11 million invested by Karabakh Telecom a cheaper and higher-quality internet will be available to the republic residents.
Karabakh Telecom has been operating in Artsakh since February 2002 with 95% coverage.
The company provides mobile, wireless and fixed telephony services, internet services via ADSL, fiber optic communictaion and wireless Wi-Fi internet service and mobile internet service via 3G. --0---
