Leukemic milk sales banned in Eurasian Economic Union member countries

The Customs Union issued a regulation prohibiting sales of so-called leukemic milk in the Eurasian Economic Union member countries. The ban comes into force on January 1, 2016.

YEREVAN, November 18. /ARKA/. The Customs Union issued a regulation prohibiting sales of so-called leukemic milk in the Eurasian Economic Union member countries. The ban comes into force on January 1, 2016.
The technical regulation the Customs Union Commission approved in December 2011 contains also requirements to raw milk, Novosti-Armenia reports.
In accordance with this document, raw milk received only from healthy cows is permitted for selling. Leukemia is mentioned in the document along with foot-and-mouth disease, plague and brucellosis.
There are similar restrictions also in other countries, including EU countries.
Milk producers in Eurasian Economic Union countries were given enough time to adapt to new conditions.
Besides, many of flagship market players were involved in development of the technical regulations. It means they are co-developers of key documents. ---0----
