YEREVAN, April 12. /ARKA/. Vehicles transporting meat and bread will have to have mandatory sanitary passports, the head of the State Food Safety Service of Armenia Ishkhan Karapetyan said today. According to him, the process of providing sanitary passports starts in the coming months.

"At the initial stage, the requirement will apply to vehicles carrying meat and bread," Karapetyan said. Summarizing the activities of the State Food Safety Service for the last six months, Karapetyan said that one-stop shop system was introduced at all checkpoints at the border, allowing exporters and importers to save time.

He added that in recent months, the State Food safety Service has also carried out a set of measures aimed at shifting to the mandatory slaughter of animals in slaughterhouses. According to him, under a government decision, beginning from May 1, 2017 meat for government agencies will be bought only from slaughterhouses. -0-
