Passenger traffic through Armenia’s two airports built up by 29.3$ in Jan-June 2017

Passenger traffic through Shrak Airport in Gyumri, the second biggest city of Armenia, was 7,744 people in June 2017 – this figure is greater than that of the same period of the previous year by 1,558%, the press office of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia reports.

Passenger traffic through Shrak Airport in Gyumri, the second biggest city of Armenia, was 7,744 people in June 2017 – this figure is greater than that of the same period of the previous year by 1,558%, the press office of the General Department of Civil Aviation of Armenia reports.
Passenger traffic through the airport for the first six months of this year grew 402.1%, compared with the same period a year before.
As many as 1,094,007 passengers have passed through Yerevan’s Zvartnots International Airport and Gyumri’s Shirak together over a period between January and June 2017 ensuring a 29.3% year-on-year growth.
Some 211,252 people passed through Zvartnots in June 2017 – a 20.5% year-on-year growth.
The airport’s passenger flow for Jan-June 2017 was 26.1% larger than that of the same period a year earlier.
Freight traffic through Zvartnots was recorded at 10,912 tons in Jan-June 2017 – 70.4% more than in Jan-June 2016.
The number of the two airports’ arrivals and departures grew 24.5% in Jan-June 2017.
Armenia has two airports – Yereva’s Zvartnots and Gyumri’s Shirak – which are run by Armenia - International Airports CJSC in accordance with a 30-year concession management contract signed with the Armenian government in 2001.
