Passenger traffic through Armenian airports was up 2% in 2019 April

YEREVAN, May 10. /ARKA/. Passenger traffic through Armenia’s airports Zvartnots in the ca[ital Yerevan and Shirak in the second largest town of Gyumri grew by 2% in 2019 April as opposed to April 2018, reaching 217,030 people, the press service of Armenia-International Airports, a company that runs both facilities, said today.
It said Zvartnots handled a total of 205,419 passengers in 2019 April, up from 200,707 passengers in 2018 April. The growth amounted to 2 percent, it said.
Passenger traffic through Shirak airport decreased by 4% 11,611 passengers.
From the beginning of the year, passenger traffic through both airports amounted to 795,605 people, which is 7.8% more than in the same period last year.
In January-April of the current year, the number of take-offs and landings at both airports also increased by 2.6% compared to the first four months of last year.
Zvartnots and Shirak airports are run by the Armenia – International Airports in accordance with a 30-year concessional management agreement sealed with Armenian government. The company belongs to American International Airports, an Argentine company owned by Eduardo Eurnekian, an Argentine entrepreneur of Armenian descent. -0-
