Petrol prices in dollars fell 28% over two years in Armenia, Artak Shaboyan, the head of Armenia’s antitrust agency, said Thursday at a regular Cabinet meeting.
YEREVAN, February 4. /ARKA/. Petrol prices in dollars fell 28% over two years in Armenia, Artak Shaboyan, the head of Armenia’s antitrust agency, said Thursday at a regular Cabinet meeting.
“Compared with 2014, they shed from 480 to 390 drams per one liter,” he said. “The decrease was partially due to devaluation of the national currency.”
The antitrust agency, he said, has carried out comparative analysis of decrease in petrol prices in some countries in euros and saw that in 2015 they slid 14% in Armenia, 8% in France, 7% in Germany, 8% in Italy, 10% in Czech Republic and 6% in Romania.
Shaboyan said that petrol is now imported from Russia mostly by two companies – Flash and CPS, while in 2006 and 2007 there were five or six importers.
In his words, the agency keeps eye on these companies and sees no competition abuses. --0----
