YEREVAN, October 1. /ARKA/. Russian President Vladimir Putin told a Eurasian Economic Union (EEU) gathering in the Armenian capital Yerevan today that the economic bloc has created a 'voluminous' common market, which is successfully functioning.
He said integration processes across the EEU are having the most favorable effect on the economies of its member countries, contributing to the improvement of the living standards of their citizens.
Putin also said special attention should be paid to removing all the barriers to trade in goods and services.
He said that a common electricity space should be formed simultaneously with the creation of the EEU's natural gas, oil and oil products markets in 2025.
"First of all, it is necessary to complete the process of harmonization of the legislations of the member states in the field of gas supply and transportation," he said.
Putin also said that the Russia-Africa summit will be held for the first time in Russian Sochi on October 23-24, and the EEU intends to sign a memorandum of understanding with the African Union Commission.
According to him, the EEU has been expanding cooperation with the dynamic economies of the Asia-Pacific region, especially with China.
'We are convinced that the early entry into force of the cooperation agreement between EEU and China will be a step towards linking EEU's integration processes with the Chinese One Belt, One Road initiative," he said. -0-
