Regulator reveals breaches of sanitary norms at a local bakery

Acting on a complaint from a resident of Yerevan’s Nor-Aresh neighborhood Armenia’s State Food Safety Service inspected a local bakery, owned by a private entrepreneur Gegham Muradyan.

YEREVAN, February 17. /ARKA/. Acting on a complaint from a resident of Yerevan’s Nor-Aresh neighborhood Armenia’s State Food Safety Service inspected a local bakery, owned by a private entrepreneur Gegham Muradyan. The State Food Safety Service said that the complaining citizen, Mariam Kirakosyan, reported that she found a foreign body in a loaf.
The inspection revealed a number of violations of sanitary and hygienic norms, the Service said in a press release. According to it, all the shops of the bakery were dirty, not refurbished, and in improper condition; it was found that the employees ignore mandatory primary and routine medical check-ups and have no health books.
No measures were taken to prevent the penetration of animals and insects in the production, processing and storage rooms; raw materials and other components were not stored as required by the law. Based on these findings the Service suspended the operation of the bakery until the elimination of the revealed breaches.
In addition, five employees were forbidden to work unless they had mandatory medical examination in due course. Violations must be eliminated before the 16th of March this year, the Service said -0-
