Robert von Rekowsky to share his rich experience with Armenian bankers

Robert von Rekowsky, an independent member of Ameriabank’s Board of Directors, will visit Armenia on April 19 to share his experience and knowledge with Armenian businessmen, the press service of the bank said today.

YEREVAN, April 15. / ARKA /. Robert von Rekowsky, an independent member of Ameriabank’s Board of Directors, will visit Armenia on April 19 to share his experience and knowledge with Armenian businessmen, the press service of the bank said today.
"There are several reasons behind my interest in Ameriabank. The first is that my mother's family hails from Armenia. Second, I first visited Armenia in 2002 as a member of Armenia 2020 coordinating council, which triggered my interest in Armenia", he was quoted as saying in a press release.
Rekowsky also said for about 20 years he has been dealing s with investment in emerging markets.
"This is why I was glad to get this opportunity that allows me to combine my personal connections and the interest in Armenia with my professional experience,” he said.
According to Rekowski, there are several differences between ordinary and independent members of Board of Directors. Unlike ordinary members who are usually affiliated persons, including senior management, independent members are not affiliated and are not involved in the daily management of a company, so they can express alternative views of the problems facing the Board. He said he hopes that his experience will be helpful for Ameriabank.
Robert von Rekowsky with over 23 years of experience in managing international assets, is vice president for emerging markets strategy of Fidelity Investments and also its portfolio manager.
Fidelity Investments is one of the largest companies in the financial services market managing $1.4 trillion worth assets.
