YEREVAN, September 4. /ARKA/. Russian agricultural watchdog Rosselkhoznadzor said it will restrict the imports of fish products manufactured by Armenian company Goyteks LLC starting September 5. It said the measure comes after a repeat detection of violations of the veterinary and sanitary requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union and the Russian Federation by the company. More precisely, it said inspectors found malachite green in fish.
Earlier, in May 2019, Rosselkhoznadzor said it had detected a number of inconsistencies with the norms and requirements of the Eurasian Economic Union of animal products that had been imported from Armenia and several other countries. In particular, Rosselkhoznadzor had discovered an excess of arsenic in fish products from Armenia, which were produced by the company Fi-Shka.
According to Armenian Customs Service, in 2018 Armenian the customs value of exports of fish products amounted to $23.8 million, an increase of 24.6% from the previous year. About 97% of all fish exports went to Russia. -0-
