YEREVAN, October 12. /ARKA/. Ara Abrahamyan, a prominent entrepreneur and the head of the Union of Armenians of Russia, has sustained losses amounting to $1 billion from political in the Libyan civil war. 

“In the last eight years, I made large investments, more than $1 billion, in Libya,” he said today at a news conference in Yerevan adding that this money is frozen now. 

Abrahamyan expressed hope that it will be possible to recover this money and return the investments in the Libyan economy. 
Along with that, Abrahamyan stressed that the loss of financial means in Libya will have no impact on implementation of his programs in Armenia. 

Abrahamyan said he had good relations with Libya’s political elite and personally with Muammar Gaddafi when the country was ruled by him.

“Gaddafi was informed very well about Armenian nation and was concerned about our problems,” he said. -0-
