Russian prime minister recalls that Armenian-Russian trade grew by 13% in 2021 to over $2.6 billion
YEREVAN, April 20. /ARKA/. The Armenian- Russian trade in 2021 increased by almost 13% from the previous year, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin said on Wednesday at a meeting with visiting Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, TASS reported.
"Russia is Armenia's number one trade partners and investor in Armenia's economy. And what is pleasing is that last year the mutual trade turnover grew by almost 13% compared to 2020 to $2.6 billion," Russian Prime Minister said.
Meanwhile, in January-February of this year, the trade turnover increased by 42% to almost $430 million, Mishustin added.
Russia is Armenia's largest foreign trade partner. According to National Statistical Committee, Armenia's foreign trade turnover with Russia in January-February this year amounted to over $475.2 million, an increase of 61.4% compared to the first two months of 2021. Armenia's exports to Russia over the reporting period of 2022 amounted to over $147.8 million (a 43.1% increase), while imports surged by almost 69% to $351 million). -0-
