Second open-air agricultural marketplace to open in Yerevan this week

The second open-air marketplace for Armenian farmers to sell their produces directly to residents of the capital city will open on July 18 in downtown Yerevan near Mashtots Park, the press service of the ministry of agriculture said today.

YEREVAN, July 14. / ARKA /. The second open-air marketplace for Armenian farmers to sell their produces directly to residents of the capital city will open on July 18 in downtown Yerevan near Mashtots Park, the press service of the ministry of agriculture said today.
The marketplace, which is a joint effort of the ministry and the Yerevan municipality will be operating on Saturdays and Sundays.
The first agricultural open-air marketplace for farmers opened on June 6 on Kasyan Street. According to the ministry, they are selling some 40-50 tons of agricultural products a day.
The farmers do not have to pay for stalls, scales and trolleys, provided by the ministry of agriculture.
Agricultural open-air marketplaces have been organized in Yerevan since 2011. According to the ministry, marketplaces last year attracted about 5,520 farmers.-0-
