Some 150-200 small and medium-sized Armenian companies will receive financial assistance from the government this year under a program the Cabinet has approved today.

YEREVAN, March 5. / ARKA /. Some 150-200 small and medium-sized Armenian companies will receive financial assistance from the government this year under a program the Cabinet has approved today.
First deputy economy minister Garegin Melkonyan said as part of the program start-up businesses will be eligible to 5 million soft loans at 10% interest rate repayable in 5 years. He said a similar program was effective in 2014 as well.
He said the government will also provide loan guarantees of up to 15 million drams repayable in 5 years and also continue training courses for representatives of SMEs.
According to him, preference will be given to companies operating outside the capital city. He added that training courses will highlight this year resource-saving and environmentally friendly technologies.
The program will be carried out by the National Centre for Development of Small and Medium Business. ($ 1 - 479.05 drams). -0-
