South Caucasus Railways along with its partners conducting contest for school students from Gyumri

South Caucasus Railways, in cooperation with Imtour travel agency, Shirak Football club and Rosgosstrakh-Armenia insurance company, is conducting an intellectual contest-festival, Our Homeland, for 200 school students from Gyumri, Armenia’s second largest city, the company’s pres office reports.
YEREVAN, March 24./ARKA/. South Caucasus Railways, in cooperation with Imtour travel agency, Shirak Football club and Rosgosstrakh-Armenia insurance company, is conducting an intellectual contest-festival, Our Homeland, for 200 school students from Gyumri, Armenia’s second largest city, the company’s pres office reports.
The contest is conducted in three stages. At the first stage, Gyumri schools selected their participants, at the second they were tested. The contestants answered questions related to Armenia’s history, geography, environment, culture and sports.
Today the third stage was launched. South Caucasus Railways CJSC’s train carried 152 school students to Alaverdi, Sanahin and Dsekh. The contest’s final will be held in Hakhpat cultural center.
The winner will enjoy a seven-day trip to Greece, “In the Footsteps of Alexander the Great”, granted by Imtour travel agency.
The press office said that such events would become regular, and school students from all the provinces of Armenia would take part in them.
South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway.
Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years.-0-
