South Caucasus Railways, Armenian emergency ministry to monitor Yerevan-Gyumri section of railway

Specialists at South Caucasus Railways CJSC and Armenian emergency ministry will monitor Yerevan-Gyumri section of the railway on Friday, the company’s press office told ARKA News Agency on Thursday.
YEREVAN, January 26. /ARKA/. Specialists at South Caucasus Railways CJSC and Armenian emergency ministry will monitor Yerevan-Gyumri section of the railway on Friday, the company’s press office told ARKA News Agency on Thursday. 

Acting CEO Marat Khakov and other representatives of the company will take part in the monitoring. 

This joint monitoring will be held as part of the cooperation memorandum signed by South Caucasus Railways CEO Shevket Shaidullin and Emergency Minister Armen Yeritsyan on December 6, 2011 to prevent manmade disasters and eliminate their consequences and forecast and resist natural disasters as well as to inform the population. 

The South Caucasus Railways and the ministry also intend to carry out joint emergency and recovery as well as search and rescue work. They will also train and retrain specialists at education centers specially established for this purpose. 

South Caucasus Railways, a 100-percent subsidiary of Russian Railways, runs Armenian Railway. 

Armenian Railways was handed over to the South Caucasus Railways on February 13, 2008 for 30-year concession management with a right to prolong the management term for other 10 years. M.V.-0---
