South Caucasus Railways earns 898 million in profits from its freight center’s activities in 2012

YEREVAN, January 22. /ARKA/. The South Caucasus Railways CJSC’s freight center, which stared functioning one year ago, is very important for it is a single establishment in charge of contacts with freight forwarders, while before a several organizations dealt with clients.
Now any clients communicates directly with a manager who formalizes, organizes and controls shipment. It means it takes less time than before to fulfill an order, the press office of the South Caucasus Railways reported on Tuesday.
The center gives a client the full logistic scheme of freight route with mentioned distances, terms and delivery date along with extra services related to terminals.
Automated systems enable clients not only to formalize their orders for freight and freight papers and control things at their business accounts, but also carry out all necessary operations online.
The center’s activity spurs competition. Its services are highly demanded at the freight market.
Contracts were sealed with 23 clients in 2012. Some 88 additional contracts were made on each separate shipment.
Some 29,100 tons of cargoes were transported in 2012. Profits from the center’s activity amounted to AMD 898,993,000 – 310% more than budget plan and 111% more than plan task for 2012.
“Such figures give ground for optimism and hope for further success in 2013,” the press release says. -0-
