Syunik and Artsakh residents to enjoy TaTever ropeway’s special offer

Ahead of the beginning of the winter season, Armenia’s TaTever, the longest reverse ropeway in the world, has special offers to all the residents of Syunik province and Artsakh (Karabakh) as well as to students, the press office of IDeA Foundation reports.
YEREVAN, November 30. /ARKA/. Ahead of the beginning of the winter season, Armenia’s TaTever, the longest reverse ropeway in the world, has special offers to all the residents of Syunik province and Artsakh (Karabakh) as well as to students, the press office of IDeA Foundation reports.
The ropeway two-way fare for the mentioned categories of citizens will be 1,500 drams and one-way price will be 1.000 drams.
Appropriate evidence is necessary for both categories – students will show their student identity cards and Syunik and Artsakh residents their residential registration.
All other passengers will pay 3,500 drams for two-way movement and 2,500 for one-way movement in winter season.
The ropeway will service passengers from Tuesday to Sunday at 10:00 to 18:00 this winter, while before it operated only on weekends and holidays.
The final working day for the ropeway this year will be December 29. After New Year holidays, it will resume operating on January 6.
TaTever ropeway was built in 2010 as part of IDeA Foundation’s “Revival of Tatev” project.
The ropeway was officially launched on October 16, 2010, in the presence of a hundred of guests and the country’s leaders.
The ropeway has served more than 600,000 people since then.
It spans 5.7 kilometers with highest point at 330 meters; one-way journey from Halidzor to the famous medieval Tatev Monastery of Siunik takes 11 minutes.
