Tariffs for ferry and railway transportation of goods from Armenia to Russia and vice versa slash dramatically- prime minister
YEREVAN, April 10. /ARKA/. Prices for transportation of cargo from Yerevan to Moscow by ferry (across the Black Sea) and railway have declined, Armenian prime minister Karen Karapetyan wrote in his Facebook page.

He said previous high tariffs for transportation of cargo through the territory of Georgia affected both the process itself and the tariff policy. In his words, the prices went down as a result of trilateral talks between Armenia, Georgia and Russia.

As a result, new and lower prices for transportation of cargo through Georgia became effective from February 22, while the discounts provided by the Russian side came into force form March 13.

As a result, tariffs for rail and ferry services for transportation of goods from Moscow to Yerevan decreased  by 32-35% when compared to the  January 1, 2017, while transportation of goods from Yerevan to Moscow slashed by 52-54%, depending on the type of cargo, Karapetyan wrote. However, he did not specify either previous or current tariffs. -0-
