Thaw in Russia-Turkey relations may strike at Armenian grape exports
YEREVAN, July 6. /ARKA/. The lifting of Russian economic sanctions from Turkey may reduce to zero Armenia’s arrangements with Russian partners to increase Armenian agricultural exports, particularly grapes, according to Haykakan Zhamanak.

The newspapers reports that exporter companies have already reached agreements with the Russian side for building up grape exports.

“The thing is that before Russian sanctions Turkey supplied grapes in huge quantities and the sanctions opened great opportunities for Armenian exporters,” the authors of the publication say.

“Armenia exported 5,000 tons of grapes to Russia in 2015, while this autumn the result might grow two or three times.”

However, the latest developments show that no later than by this autumn Russia will lift anti-Turkish sanctions and ‘Armenian grapes will remain in their homeland’. --0----
