The company “ArmenTel” jointly with the Fund “Children of Armenia” started implementation of joint environmental program in accordance with cooperation memorandum signed on Tuesday.
YEREVAN, January 31. /ARKA/. The company “ArmenTel” jointly with the Fund “Children of Armenia” started implementation of joint environmental program in accordance with cooperation memorandum signed on Tuesday.
In the frames of the given program titled “Rid the environment of plastic bags” production of disposable cloth bags instead of plastic bags will be established. Three thousand cloth bags in the first phase will sew women from different Armenian villages at their houses or production sites.
“ArmenTel” will sponsor this program.
According to PR Manager of "ArmenTel" Anush Beghloyan, in the first phase of implementation of the program it is envisaged to disseminate 3000 cloth bags in supermarkets and shops, as well as in “ArmenTel” offices for free.
“It will allow to reduce the use of plastic bags which significantly harms the environment. Refusal from plastic bags will help to maintain purity and recovery of ecology of disposable cloth bags instead of plastic bags”, said CEO “ArmenTel” Igor Klimko in the international press-center “Novosti”.
In the frames of the program not only environmental, but social tasks will be determined as the program envisages creation of job places in rural communities.
The Fund “Children of Armenia” is a charity organization, the activity of which is targeted at the achievement of bright future of children living in rural regions of Armenia providing qualified education, healthcare, active life and economically favorable conditions for children and youth.
Currently the Fund is implementing the program “Development of rural communities of Armenia” in the communities Argin, Baghramyan, Dalarik, Yervandashat, Lernagog, Ushakert, Myasnikyan, Shenik and Karakert of Baghramyan region in Armavir marz, as well as in the communities Arteni and Aragatsavan of Aragatsotn region.
During the last seven years, due to the development of the Fund, 25000 rural inhabitants of Baghramyan region, including over 6000 children, attended improved schools, kindergartens, ambulatories and sport halls.
“ArmenTel” is a subsidiary of VimpelCom (trade mark Beeline), since April 2007, 100% of “ArmenTel” owned Russian company. “ArmenTel” provides fixed and mobile communication services, as well as high-speed Internet access. -0 -
