The United States to provide extra $3.5 million to Armenia for strengthening private sector

The assistance the United States has been providing to Armenia over five years in accordance with an agreement signed on August 6, 2010 to make Armenia's private sector more competitive and diversified will reach $54.6 million, Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Sergey Avetisyan said Thursday at a regular session of the government.

The assistance the United States has been providing to Armenia over five years in accordance with an agreement signed on August 6, 2010 to make Armenia's private sector more competitive and diversified will reach $54.6 million, Armenian Deputy Economy Minister Sergey Avetisyan said Thursday at a regular session of the government.
At its session, the government approved an amendment to the agreement which implies extra $3.5 million.
«The United States expressed willingness to provide this additional amount, which increases the total assistance to $54.6 million,» Avetisyan said.
In his words, the extra money will be spent on strengthening the private sector's competitiveness. --0---
